How good would it be to be in Brazil? Ah mate, It would be just too sweet! It’s so easy to put yourself there too, go on treat your mind’s eye. Taut and glistening beached bodies stretch out over golden sands as the deep blue oscillates over the shore. Shaded from the days late sun by tropic leaves the occasional celebrations of goals scored and saves made grow distant as the day crawls on its knees through fluorescent feathered streets. Supine in grateful remiss, the breeze passes over with sugar cane, lime and rum.

 

 

Well that was all a bit flowery but, my point is that Brazil it’s just one of those places that is vivid if not familiar, the connections with carnivals, gorgeous beaches and beach people are endless; I haven’t mentioned the football properly yet have I? Well I think I’ll leave that for now after all I have been a little sport heavy recently in my reporting.

 

 

While Skeggy, OK Newquay may be our closest outpost to the simply huge South American giant but we can put a little samba in your step with a pretty decent selection of Havaianas. Each of the rice beaded lowers come from the Japanese influence of fabric straps and rice straw soles, the two countries probably couldn’t be further apart but it has been quite a long and varied journey through its rise to popularity.

 

 

On top of the busy colour combos you would expect, we have a little extra for you here online and in store at pilot. Swarovsky have a crystal stilted version if you are more  bling than beach, and the hook up with Missoni is expertly contrived too. The Varese family known for their bright colours and eccentric patterns bridges the ever so tiny gap between Italy and Brazil. The gaudy patterns fit perfectly with the sun and splash already and they would slip fittingly onto the foot of a Brazilian disco; I’m thinking ‘City of God’ style, well before everyone gets shot up of course.
