British designer Sir Paul Smith has quietly expanded his fashion empire over the years and can now be said to be one of the World's most eminent designer of clothes and arguably Britain's finest. Since opening up his first store on Byard Lane in Nottingham (which is still open today and houses his Paul Smith Jeans collection) he has expanded his empire to stores in iconic Covent Garden in London, the spiritual home of fashion in Milan and in Tokyo, Japan where they go crazy for his infamous striped designs.

Not content with just expanding his bricks and mortar empire, Sir Paul has developed his clothing ranges to create different designer menswear collections to suit differing marketing sectors. Perhaps his most popular line and certainly his most popular range here at Pilot is the paul smith jeans line. As well as featuring a selection of denim with a more classic look than other denim labels, Paul Smith Jeans also features a range of t-shirts, often with quirky or humorous logos, Polo Shirts which this season have the striped zebra emblem sewn into them, lightweight jackets and a range of knitwear. This collection is all about instant, ready to wear fashion,simply pull out your wardrobe and go to the pub or the game.

Here at Pilot we also stock the paul smith PS line which is a smarter collection than the Jeans line and is dominated by Paul Smith Shirts both formal in plain colours and more contemporary styles with floral prints. It is fair to say that PS is aimed at a more mature audience, and is perfect for those more important occassions such as a business meeting or a trip to the races, it gives the lool of being stylish without looking like you have tried too hard.
