Ian Brown - a man almost surgically attached to his Adidas has announced a giant party in the park in the place where it all began for him. The ex-Stone Roses frontman is well known for his love of the brand, and as well as being the catalyst for the now legendary "respect is mutual" collaboration between Adidas and A Bathing Ape, he also had a 35th anniversary edition of Adidas trainers made in his honour.

It has been revealed that the musician - affectionately known as King Monkey - is performing a huge outdoor show in Platt Fields Park, south Manchester on Friday June 11th, with a host of supports including UNKLE, Scratch Perverts and The Whip.

The show follows a successful homecoming appearance at the Manchester Evening News Arena in December in support of his latest and arguably greatest solo record My Way, which he describes as his version of Michael Jackson's classic disc Thriller.
