Lacoste-wearing Andy Roddick is gearing up for the 2010 Roland Garros campaign, despite recently being struck down with a stomach bug.

His official website has revealed the tennis ace is "ready to go for gold" during the competition, which starts on May 23rd and lasts until June 6th.

Also known as the French Open, the competition was last year won by Roger Federer, while Rafael Nadal missed out.

"Our number one American, however, will most likely not face either of these two top players until the second week at they are all top ten players, but the draw release tomorrow will solidify this," Roddick's site noted.

A total of $7.6 million (£6.6 million) is up for grabs during the tournament. Should Roddick take a share of the cash, he probably will not need to stock up on clothes considering his deal with Lacoste.

Roddick recently beat Pete Sampras 6-4 at the Caesars Tennis Classic in Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.
