The latest Nike commercial features a host of star names and could be enough to encourage many people to sport the brand's clothes this summer.

Filmed ahead of the this year's World Cup in South Africa, the three-minute long advert features players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Didier Drogba.

Writing for the Guardian, Paolo Bandini said that although Hollywood director Alejandro Gonzalez is unlikely to see it as one of the high points of his career, "he can at least be satisfied that it is among the better World Cup offerings to hit our screens so far".

He added the glossy ad has a sense of self awareness, ensuring that it avoids the less preferable direction taken by some companies.

Men cheering on their team when the action kicks off next month may well want to look their best and they could make sure they do by purchasing a range of items from the brand's range.
