Nike  fans may have already seen the brand's advert ahead of the World Cup in South Africa, but one of its stars will not be making it to the tournament.

England boss Fabio Capello whittled down his original 30 picks to form the final 23-man squad to represent their country at the finals yesterday (June 1st) and found no place for Theo Walcott.

The Nike-sponsored Arsenal midfielder had been widely expected to be involved in the action following David Beckham's Achilles injury and is even shown playing in the finals in commercials.

Nike said: "We're disappointed for Theo. Nike looks forward to supporting him throughout his future career."

Walcott was a surprise pick by then England manager Sven Goran Eriksson in 2006 but has this time been left out, with Joe Cole and Shaun Wright Philips being preferred for the right-wing position.

Men may find Nike clothing helps them to stay stylish while watching the action, which kicks off on June 11th.
