Nike has welcomed back Tiger Woods to the golfing circuit after it was announced that he will play this year's Masters.

It is good news for the brand as Woods will take to the course kitted out in a full range of Nike clothing and will undoubtedly be subjected to a great deal of media attention following the recent reports about his private life.

Woods will be hoping to achieve another win in the tournament - which he has won four times previously - but his fans could be keen to see how he is kitted out. The golfer is a fan of Nike's polo shirts meaning that his style could be worn both on and off the course.

Rick Burton, former chief marketing officer of the US Olympic Committee and a sports marketing professor at Syracuse University, says: "Nike can probably imagine nothing better than Tiger coming back, withstanding the pressure of everyone watching him and winning."
