Nike clothing fans may have seen the latest advert from the brand featuring golfer Tiger Woods - subject of much controversy recently - being addressed by the voice of his dead father.

The black and white clip shows Woods staring sombrely into the camera, wearing a black Nike tanktop and a black Nike cap, listening to his father ask "did you learn anything?".

Some elements of the media criticised the commercial for being "cheesy", but recent findings suggest it has had a positive impact for the golfer and the clothing brand.

The New York Times reported a study by Zeta Interactive - a company which monitors the web - which revealed positive ratings for Nike had increased to 83 per cent from the previous levels of 68-73 per cent.

Style-conscious men may wish to emulate elements of Woods's style this summer by teaming a Nike polo shirt with a cap.
